Properties and applications of the LED
The unique properties of the LED are expanding the applications of light considerably. LED light can be put in places that are difficult to reach. An LED light lasts for more than ten years before it has to be replaced. These lights have no glass components and will not break even after being dropped or after a violent impact. LEDs are exceedingly strong. They can be used safely in the bathroom or the sauna.
Because of the small amount of heat emission, close-fitting housings are sufficient for LED lights. These lights can also be grasped when they are on. LED lights can be directly connected to power sources such as solar panels. Hardly any heat loss occurs. LEDs are not only ideal in the garden or on the terrace but also in boats and in caravans.
LED offers new perspectives for lighting in the living room or the work room as well as for spotlighting display windows. With LED theatre spots you can conjure up every colour without filters.
More and more applications are being found for LED light
Innovations are being made super-fast. In addition to the standard applications new forms of data transmission with LEDs are continually being developed. Special LED panels (illuminated news trailers) are being used for announcements and signposting in traffic, in public areas, in city squares, under viaducts or in large scale industrial projects. There are countless LED applications during (cultural) events, congresses, music and theatre spectacles and in other places of entertainment. More and more LED light is being used in shopping areas and showcases. Furthermore many artists have been exploring the possibilities of use of colour, illustration, decoration and accentuation with the LED. Quite extraordinary art projects and art objects have been the result.
